On behalf of the Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross and the Wayne County Historical Society, we wanted to celebrate the multi-year partnership between our organizations as we kick off the 21st annual Festival of Trees. Proceeds from the festival benefit Red Cross local disaster services. The preview event has been held at the Wayne County Historical Society for many years, providing a wonderful setting to showcase the decorated trees in advance of the live auction held at the end of November.

The venue was changed this year in order to give the community a chance to view the Red Cross building on the corner of Grant and South streets in Wooster and to integrate the Festival of Trees preview with Main Street Wooster’s Window Wonderland event.

The Red Cross approached the Historical Society months before the event was to take place in 2012 to explain the rationale for the change. The Historical Society fully understood and supported this decision. The Historical Society wishes the Red Cross the greatest success in the future and the Red Cross wishes to thank the Historical Society for all of its support over the years. Wayne County is a wonderful community and these types of partnerships only serve to strengthen us.
