
The Wayne County Civil War Roundtable will present “Hidden History” with Jeff Schrock and Jolene Dyer on Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 6:30 p.m. at the Wayne County Historical Society, 546 E. Bowman St., in Wooster. The free program will be held in the schoolhouse on the historical society’s campus. Parking is available in the historical society’s lot off Spink St., as well as along the fence at the eastern end of the Drug Mart lot on Bowman St.
Schrock, a Sugar Creek resident and air force veteran, will share information on cemetery stone restoration and how to obtain VA headstones for Civil War veterans. He also will touch on the stories of Lt. Noah Webster Yoder and his three brothers, as well as the three Miller brothers, all of whom served in the Civil War.
Dyer, a Wooster native and member of the DAR, has been an adjunct instructor of education and reading at Ashland University and the College of Wooster, as well a social studies teacher at Wooster High School. She will share how her interest in Revolutionary patriots was kindled, and the development of a five-point project to locate, verify, and memorialize Revolutionary War patriots buried in Wayne County.
