WOOSTER, Feb. 24, 2021 – The Wayne County Historical Society remains closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The board of trustees is carefully monitoring the latest information and guidance from the CDC and state and local health authorities, as well as the progress of vaccination efforts, and hopes to be in a position to reopen safely in late summer or early fall of this year.
The health of visitors and volunteers is of paramount importance, and the Historical Society’s reliance on guided tours in relatively close quarters through its eight-building campus, combined with the age of many of the tour guides, presents an especially difficult challenge to reopening safely.
The Historical Society suspended all public programming due to the pandemic in March 2020 and has remained closed since then.
