The Smithville Community Historical Society and the Wayne County Civil War Round Table are proud to once again host Civil War History Day on Saturday, June 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Smithville Community Historical Society, 381 Main St. in Smithville.
Civil War presenters will include the 41st OVI re-enactors, President Abraham Lincoln, and a Civil War medicinal herb presentation. There will be farmwife spinning and straw hats demonstrations and the 27th Virginia Co. G. “Shriver Grays” will hold a drilling demonstration out by the Vet’s Memorial following the noon ceremony. In addition there will be Civil War artifacts, display and presentation on flags of the Civil War, food, music and more! All buildings in the Pioneer Village will be open to tour and a vintage baseball game will be played with Smithville Stars vs. Wyandotte Ghostriders.
