Reconstruction of this mid 19th-century building was completed in 1995 after it had been moved from the village of Fredericksburg in 1994. It recreates the atmosphere of a turn-of-the-century general store. A general store was the equivalent to a modern day grocery store and housed items for sale such as farming tools and groceries. Bartering was common in General Stores at the turn of the century seeing as money was scarce in rural areas. These stores flourished in the 19th century, but declined rapidly in the 20th century due to specialized stores.

Also located within the general store is a recreation of an early 20th-century ladies dress shop where vintage fashions at their finest can be seen in seasonally-changing exhibits. The Society holds an outstanding collection of early textiles, with some pieces dating back over 200 years.
